The Family Circle Cup 2015

March 26, 2015

At last, Spring is here again! That means The Family Circle Cup is right around the corner here in Charleston. This year marks the 43rd year for the tournament, which takes place April 4-12 at the Family Circle Stadium on Daniel Island.

Last year Andrea Petkovic took home the FCC crown, defeating Jana Cepelova in straight sets (7-5) (6-2). Petkovic is returning to defend her title, along with 55 of the WTA’s top ladies. This year’s players represent 20 countries and eight of the ladies are ranked in the top 20 worldwide.

The perennial favorite of the tournament is Charleston’s own Shelby Rogers. Shelby qualified for the 2015 Family Circle Cup main draw. Shelby grew up in Mt. Pleasant (home of ScoreBand!) and at 22 years old currently ranks 86th in the WTA. Best of luck to Shelby, we are rooting for our hometown star!!

The Family Circle Cup always hosts great activities throughout the tournament: Ladies Night Out, Family Weekend, Happy Hours, and Pink Out Night For The Cure.

Once again, Your Serve Tennis will be setting up their HUGE temporary store in the main tent outside the stadium. Your Serve Tennis is Atlanta’s premier Tennis retailer carrying all of the latest tennis fashion and equipment. Make sure to stop in…and pick up a ScoreBand to keep track of players’ unforced errors, winners, first serves in percent, or number of beverages consumed ;)

Grab some tickets here, and catch this first-class tennis event, epic matches, and loads of fun here in Charleston. I know all of us here at SBHQ will be dropping in.

Hope to see you there!

There’s something about knowing the exact yardage to a pin or hazard that instills confidence.  Providing that information quickly and accurately, the Vibe SL600 should be a consideration for anyone buying a rangefinder.
