ScoreBand + Micky Ward Charities Golf Classic
This past August, we were privileged to team up with the 5th Annual “Irish” Micky Ward Charities Golf Classic. Held at Andover’s Indian Ridge Country Club, this golf tournament was one for the books. Team ScoreBand was thrilled to be associated with “Irish” Micky Ward and his Charities. Micky Ward is a retired American junior welterweight professional boxer and former WBU champion….but some of you may know Micky better as Mark Wahlberg.
What?
Why?
Because Wahlberg played Micky in the 2010 feature film, “The Fighter” and was a Golden Globe Nominee for his portrayal.
“Team Micky Ward Charities is a non-profit charitable organization that provides financial assistance to children and families in need to help improve their everyday quality of life. The goal of the foundation is to raise money through charitable contributions and fundraisers. These finances will be allotted to those in need of our assistance, wherever and whenever possible, regardless of race, religion, age, or ethnicity.”
We played a very small part in this wonderful event – donating ScoreBands for the raffle. And Micky himself is now sporting his very own ScoreBand too!
